Techno

Choosing a manufacturer is always important.

It is much more important when it is time to choose a reserve canopy.

The Techno concept :
For equal areas, the TECHNO canopy is STRONGER, generates MORE LIFT, puts you down MORE GENTLY and has a much smaller packing volume!

The TECHNO concept is more than an innovative range of square reserve canopies! It is an intelligent combination of proven concepts and revolutionary improvements to achieve the best ratio ever between maximum suspended weight and volume.

Bi-convex wing design

While conventional canopies use identical ribs throughout the canopy, the non-load bearing ribs of the TECHNO do not continue all the way to the trailing edge. Somewhere half way the length of the cell, the lower part of the canopy meets the upper part. From there, they are sewn together.
It's got nothing to do with the «simple» (wing) design formerly used in some American manufacturing. In this case, the bearing ribs on which the suspension lines are sewn remain classical. The result is a so-called bi-convex wing profile. The lower part is not completely straight but makes an upward curve generating extra lift. Sewing together upper and lower parts greatly enhance the structural strength of the canopy. While the improved performance of the bi-convex wing design can only be enjoyed in flight, another rewarding advance can be appreciated when the canopy is packed (which is 99.9 % of its service life): a substantial reduction of packing volume!

This new design results from a very simple idea, the egg of Columbus. Once again, PARACHUTES DE FRANCE S.A lives up to its reputation by improving performance and comfort in a field which, by its nature, is not the hottest in terms of innovation: safety.

Direct line attachment

In creating the TECHNO, our engineers have redefined the meaning of «direct line attachment» for years to come. It is more direct than you would ever have think possible!
Our patented attachment does away with tapes, flares or any intermediate steps. This has been made possible by using OPTIMA line (polyethylene). Continuous rib reinforcement lines form short loops running through small, laser cut holes in the lower skin. The suspension lines are directly fingertrapped to these loops to form a smooth and extremely strong connection. Additionally, the lower part of the canopy is reinforced with lateral running OPTIMA lines between the attachment points of the suspension lines.

OPTIMA is made of polyethylene fibres. It is known to distribute tensile strength very effectively, yet without stretching. As a result, the opening forces are entirely absorbed by the OPTIMA reinforcement and suspension lines and apply very little stress on the canopy fabric.
Adding greatly to overall structural strength, the direct line attachment dramatically reduces drag and packing volume.

The TECHNO beats all other designs when it comes to the ratio between maximum jumping weight and packing volume! The TECHNO combines highly interesting characteristics in a way you would never have thought possible:

For equal areas, the TECHNO canopy is STRONGER, generates MORE LIFT, puts you down MORE GENTLY and has a much smaller packing volume!
